The NCR / Symbios 53C8XX Chipset (See bellow for details of which card this provides support for) Please note : Although the FREE Evaluation will support SCSI drives as data disks it will only install, boot and run from the Primary Master IDE hard drive, which must be at least 100Mb in size. The install will take about 60 - 70Mb so, a 100Mb drive will leave little space for data unless you have additional disks. |

AIC7xxx Driver for Linux
Introduction
----------------------------
The AIC7xxx SCSI driver adds support for Adaptec (http://www.adaptec.com) SCSI controllers and chipsets. Major portions of the driver and driver development are shared between both Linux and FreeBSD. Support for the AIC-7xxx chipsets have been in the default Linux kernel since approximately linux-1.1.x and fairly stable since linux-1.2.x, and are also in FreeBSD 2.1.0 or later.
